APGA using Ojukwu’s name to defraud Igbo — Uwazurike

Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Biafran Independent Movement (BIM), Chief Ralph Uwazurike, has asked Ndigbo not to vote for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general elections.

Chief Uwazurike accused the party of “fraud” by using the name of the founder of the party, late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, but not practicing the ideals for which the late Biafran warlord founded the party.

Uwazurike, who spoke to Daily Trust yesterday, on the eighth anniversary of Ojukwu’s death on November 26, 2011, said  for denying  Ojukwu’s widow, Bianca, the ticket to represent Anambra South in the Senate, the party had no respect for Ojukwu and the Igbo nation.

Uwazurike said, “The only party using the name of Ojukwu to gain relevance is APGA. I have told Ndigbo not to vote for APGA; APGA is dead in Igboland. It is no longer an Igbo party. By refusing to give the ticket to Ojukwu’s wife, APGA has betrayed him (Ojukwu) and the ideals he stood for.”

Speaking on the late Biafran warlord, Uwazurike said Ojukwu was not dead but resting.

“In our mind, Ojukwu is not dead but resting. We remember him every day as our hero. On this day, marking the eighth anniversary of his rest, we honour and adore him as our leader.”

Meanwhile, the Senator representing Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh, has described late Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu as a consummate and accomplished soldier, statesman and leader of his people.
