A Facebook user, Aminu Attahiru Abubakar took to the platform to call out the Bauchi State Government for their ''non-chaland attitude towards handling the affairs of the state.''

He shared photos of commuters fetching 'drinking' water from a pipe inside a dirty place and wrote;

This is Anguwar Bakaro. Just look at the place where people are fetching water to drink in Bauchi State. It is a major failure which may result to cholera epidemic and cause death. I can excuse the government reasons for failure to complete other projects but if they cannot provide ordinary tap water for people in 4yrs, what excuse should I give them? Haba Dan Allah!

With all due respect to His Excellency, I like him as a person but his nonchalant attitude towards handling the affairs of our state is totally uncalled for. And his failure to fulfill his campaign promises such as providing water to the citizens is one of the reasons why I want him out of office. Let's try another person gaskia.

President Buhari to attend climate change conference in Poland

President Buhari departs Abuja Saturday for Katowice, Poland, to attend the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP24) under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) December 2-4, 2018.

The COP24 Summit, which will be held at the International Conference Centre (MCK) and the adjacent Spodek Arena in Katowice, is being convened under the Presidency of Poland.

According to the organisers, the conference is expected to finalize the rules for implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change under the Paris Agreement Work Programme (PAWP) – the rule book for implementation.

During the Leaders’ Summit at COP24, President Buhari will deliver a national statement highlighting Nigeria's commitment to addressing climate change by implementing the goals set out in its National Determined Contributions.

He will also use the occasion to accentuate Nigeria’s willingness to work with international partners to reverse the negative effects of climate change in Africa and the world over, while expecting that developed nations scale up their emission reduction activities in order to limit the increase in average global temperatures to well below 2 degrees centigrade between now and 2020.

The Leaders’ Summit is expected to adopt a ‘‘Declaration on Solidarity and Just Transition Silesia,’’ – named after the region of Poland where this year’s climate conference is taking place. As a member of the Committee of the African Heads of State on Climate Change – a group of 10 African countries that meets and takes positions concerning issues of climate change on behalf of the continent – Nigeria has been at the forefront of advancing policies and initiatives aimed at addressing significant challenges occasioned by climate change such as reviving the Lake Chad, halting and reversing desertification, flooding, ocean surge and oil spillage.

President Buhari will continue to champion these pressing issues at COP24 in Katowice, among others, as well as reiterate Nigeria’s position on the need for African countries to access financial resources, especially the Green Climate Fund to draw up climate change adaptation policies and actions for implementation.

The Nigerian delegation will also showcase the policy measures and actions of the Federal Government at ensuring environmental sustainability and effectively combating climate change through several side events within the Nigerian pavilion.

While in Poland, President Buhari will hold an interactive session with the Nigerian community in that country. The Nigerian leader is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the President of Poland Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The President will be accompanied by Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Yahaya Bello and Abubakar Sani Bello of Enugu, Kogi and Niger States, respectively.

Others on his entourage include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, and the Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibrin.

Amosun’s Associate, Akinlade, Dumps APC, Picks APM Gov Ticket

Amosun’s Associate, Akinlade, Dumps APC, Picks APM Gov Ticket

Adekunle Akinlade
Few hours to Saturday’s deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the final substitution of governorship candidates of political parties for the 2019 general elections, the preferred candidate of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Mr. Adekunle Akinlade, and four members of the state House of Assembly have defected from for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
A source close to Akinlade confirmed yesterday that the Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency lawmaker will fly the APM flag in the 2019 governorship election in the state.
The other four defectors, who crossed carpet yesterday, include the Majority Leader, Mr. Adeyinka Mafe; Chief Whip, Mr. Idowu Olowofuja (Abeokuta South 2); Mr. Tunde Sanusi (Obafemi-Owode) and Mr. Ganiyu Oyedeji (Ifo 2).
As a serving member of the House of Representatives, the letter of Akinlade’s decision to dump the ruling party was read yesterday on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, during plenary.
Other members of the House of Representatives who defected include, Mr. Rabiu Kaugama (Jigawa), who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Social Democratic Party (SDP); Mr. Mohammed Ajanah (Kogi), who left APC to PDP; and Mr. Salisu Koko (Kebbi), who preferred SDP to his former party, APC.
The lawmakers attributed their defections to impunities and undemocratic tendencies in their various parties.
It was also gathered that the defection letter of the four members were read on the floor of the state House of Assembly by the Speaker, Mr. Suraj Adekunbi.
An official of APC in the state revealed off the record that the state chapter of APC remains an indivisible entity and will not join the aggrieved governorship candidate (Akinlade) and the 26 state House of Assembly candidates in moving to the APM.
According to the source, “We are not going to APM. All the executive members of the APC in Ogun State still remain in the party.
“Those who decided to go to the new party (APM) because of injustice meted out to them, not only limited to the governorship candidate (Akinlade), but also all the aggrieved 26 state House of Assembly candidates, that are not happy with the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC), following the imposition of Prince Dapo Abiodun, as the APC governorship candidate, are free to do so.
“So, their defection to the APM can’t and will not shrink the strength of the APC, even preparatory to the upcoming 2019 general elections.
“Though the executive members of the party in the state are not happy with the decision of the NWC, by imposing Dapo Abiodun on us, but one thing I want you to know is that, the governorship candidate, Abiodun himself, hasn’t reached out to us for our support. Once he does that, we will give him our unalloyed support.”

Scammer exposed by Twitter users after he shared photo of a sick child and asked for financial support

A man tried to scam well-meaning Nigerians by sharing a photo of a sick child and a fake doctor's report in order to get financial support from Twitter users, but he was busted.
The man claimed in his tweet that his sick baby was in the hospital and he needed money to pay her bills. At first, a lot of people were sympathetic and were already asking for his account details.
But, some people noticed that the photo he used is the photo of a child who has died since. Doctors on Twitter also noticed that the doctor's report was fake and the words scribbled on it made no sense.
They went further to check his account and noticed that he just created the Twitter account last week, specifically to scam people.
Twitter users have taken to the fake page to drag whoever is behind it.
See screenshots below.

I am a descendant of Abraham, I don't hate Christians- President Buhari says

I am a descendant of Abraham, I don't hate Christians- President Buhari says

I am a descendant of Abraham, I don

President Buhari has once again reacted to his perceived hatred for Christians.
In a new article published on Churchtimes, a UK based online christian platform, President Buhari said just like many Christians, he is a descendant of Abraham and that he does not hate anyone that is of the Chjristian faith, afterall his deputy is a Christian.
He advised Nigerians not to allow politicians use religion as a tool to divide the country. Read his article below
''IN 1844, the Revd Samuel Ajayi Crowther returned home to Yorubaland (now part of modern-day Nigeria). Twenty years earlier, he had been kidnapped and sold to European slave traders who were bound for the Americas. He was freed by an abolitionist naval patrol, and received by the Church Missionary Society. There, he found his calling.
Crowther made his voyage home to establish the first Anglican mission in Yorubaland. He came with the first Bibles translated into Yoruba and Hausa languages. He opened dialogue and discussion with those of other faiths. And his mission was a success: Crowther later became the first African Anglican bishop in Africa.
Today, Nigeria has the largest Christian population on the continent. The messages and teachings of Christianity are part of the fabric of each person’s life.
ALONG with the millions of Christians in Nigeria today, I believe in peace, tolerance, and reconciliation; in the institution of the family, the sanctity of marriage, and the honour of fidelity; in hope, compassion, and divine revelation.
Like Bishop Crowther, I am a descendant of Abraham; unlike him, I am a Muslim. I believe our two great religions can not only peacefully coexist but also flourish together. But Muslims and Christians must first turn to one another in compassion. For, as it says in Amos 3.3: “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?”
As they are People of the Book, I believe that there is far more that unites Muslims and Christians than divides them. In fact, I believe that the messages of the Bible are universal: available for anyone to exercise, and instructive to all.
We must resist the temptation to retreat into our communities, because, if we do, we can only look inwards. It is only when we mix that we can reach new and greater possibilities.
Whichever religion or religious denomination they choose to follow, Nigerians are devout. Anything that Nigerians believe will place impositions on their practice, and belief is therefore sure to cause widespread alarm.
And, unfortunately, there are those who seek to divide Nigerians — and our two great religions — and to do so for their own advantage.
I stand accused — paradoxically — of trying to Islamise Nigeria while also being accused by Boko Haram terrorists of being against Islam. My Vice-President is a devout man, a Christian pastor. He, too, is accused of selling out his religion, because of his support for me.
This is not the first time that I — nor, indeed, my Christian-Muslim evenly split cabinet — have been the subject of such nonsense. Fortunately, the facts speak differently from the words of those who seek to divide us from one another.
Since my administration has been in power, Boko Haram has been significantly and fatally degraded; I have befriended church leaders and church groups both within and outside our country; my Vice-President has addressed and opened dialogue with Muslims up and down our land.
In all things, we seek that which all well-meaning Christians and well-meaning Muslims must seek: to unite, respect, and never to divide. Does it not say “There is no compulsion in religion” (Qur’an 2.256)? Does it not say “Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us” (Luke 9.50)? This, surely, is the path that followers of both our two great religions must walk.

UNFORTUNATELY, those who wish us all to walk apart have recently found another focus for their efforts: the tragic clashes between nomadic herdsmen and settled farmers in the central regions of Nigeria.
For generations, herders have driven their cattle from the north to the centre of our country; they tend to be predominantly Muslim, although not exclusively. The farmers, in certain areas of central Nigeria, are predominantly Christian.
The causes of this conflict are not religious or theological, but temporal. At the heart of this discord is access to rural land, exacerbated both by climate change and population growth.
Sadly, there are some who seek to play fast and loose and so make others believe that these are not the facts. When religion is claimed as the cause — and by those who know that it is not — it only makes finding a resolution more difficult.
The government has taken action to mediate, to bring the two groups together in peace and unity. But we also need all parties to follow the teachings of the scriptures, and encourage reconciliation rather than cause division. As it is said: “Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear?” (Mark 8.18).
As our constitution codifies, politicising religion has no place in Nigeria; for it makes us turn away from one another; it makes us retreat into our communities and walk different paths.
I believe that there is a better way. To those who seek to divide, I still hold my hand out in brotherhood and forgiveness. I ask only that they stop, and instead encourage us to turn towards one another in love and compassion. Nigeria belongs to all of us. This is what I believe.

Reps to hold public hearing on vote-buying

The House of Representatives Committee on Electoral and Political Parties Matters has said it will conduct a public hearing to address the menace of vote-buying before the 2019 elections.
Chairman of the committee, Hajiya Aishatu Jibril Dukku, said this yesterday in Gombe when she led members of the committee on an oversight visit to the state INEC office.
Hajiya Dukku said the menace of vote-buying, if not tackled, would ruin Nigeria’s democracy; hence the National Assembly taking it as a challenge to halt the phenomenon before next year’s general elections.
Dukku added that the legislators would take input from members of the public to resolve the issue of vote-buying, which she said was posing threat to democracy.
She explained that the committee was in Gombe as part of its oversight function to check the level of preparedness and readiness of INEC to conduct free and fair elections in 2019.
She, therefore, called on the electoral body to come up with an arrangement that would give people living with disability easy access to cast their votes during the elections.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, said the commission was doing its best to ensure that the 2019 general elections were conducted in a threat-free environment.
Alhaji Ibrahim outlined lack of accessibility to deliver both sensitive and non-sensitive materials to the hard-to-reach areas in Dukku and Balanga local government areas as some of their major challenges.
Ibrahim said the commission needed about 13,000 ad hoc staff to handle facilitate successful elections in over 2,218 polling units and centres across the 11 local government areas of the state.

Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari threatens to attack APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole

Trending video of Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari threatening to attack APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole

A video of Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari threatening APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole and members of the National Working Committee NWC of the party, is currently trending online. Although no one knows when the video was shot.
The crisis between the governor, Adams Oshiomole and members of the National Working Committee, started after the party primaries in the state in October.
Recall that the governor's camp and the National Working Committee of the party clashed after both parties accused each other of fraud during the state party primaries. While the NWC accused the governor of attempting to impose his preferred candidate, the governor accused the party members of incompetence in carrying out their duties.
Their fracas lingered on until the party failed to meet the deadline set by INEC for the submission of governorship candidate for the 2019 general election. As it stands now, APC has no governorship candidate for the March 2019 election.
This has caused a rift between the governor and Oshimole.
This video which surfaced online, shows the governor sending a strong message to Oshiomole and members of the National Working Committee.
''If them born your father and mother well, send the committee members to the state again'' the governor could be heard saying.

President of gay dating app Grindr slammed for saying he believes marriage is 'a holy matrimony between a man and woman'

President of gay dating app Grindr slammed for saying he believes marriage is

Scott Chen, the president of gay dating app, Grindr, has been slammed by the gay community for saying he agrees that 'marriage is a holy matrimony between a man and woman.'

The father of two who has a wife made the remarks Monday in a now-deleted Facebook post.
Screenshot of the controversial post was shared by Grindr's news vertical INTO.

The site reports that the California-based CTO had shared an article on Facebook about HTC president and CEO Cher Wang supporting anti-LGBTQ causes through two nonprofit organizations and her attempt to influence Taiwan's same-sex marriage decision.

Responding to this, Chen shared his views including criticizing Wang for funding organizations against gay marriage. He also revealed that he would be boycotting any of her smartphones and accessories from her Taiwan-based company for a lifetime.

'There are people who believe that marriage is a holy matrimony between a man and a woman. I agree but that's none of our business,' Chen wrote in Chinese, which was translated by an independent translator for INTO.
'There are also people who believe that the purpose of marriage is to create children that carry their DNA. That's also none of our business. There are people that are simply different from you, who desperately want to get married. They have their own reasons,' he added
He continued by taking a jab at HTC's Wang: 'Getting married is a personal thing, rich can't donate to the real poor hungry war disaster that needs help? Why spend money to stop people in love from getting married? Is nothing important in life?'
'Right, I won't buy HTC Products for a lifetime, and I won't donate any money to Taiwan's Christian groups for a lifetime!'
President of gay dating app Grindr slammed for saying he believes marriage is

INTO's Editor-in-Chief Zach Stafford wrote on Twitter Thursday: 'Today we at INTO have learned that the current president of Grindr believes that same-sex marriage is a ''holy matrimony between men and women.'''
'We are reporting this as the media property owned by Grindr and will be updating this as the story develops,' he wrote.
Chen later dismissed INTO's article, calling it 'unbalanced and misleading,' in a comment directed to staff writer Matthew Rodriguez.
'Matthew, I wish you asked my comments before you publish this. This article is unbalanced and misleading. It hurts my feelings and it also hurts INTO's and Grindr's reputation,' Chen replied.
'The reason I said marriage is a holy matrimony between a man and a woman is based on my own personal experience. I am a straight man married to a woman I love and I have two beautiful daughters I love from the marriage. This is how I feel about my marriage,' he explained.
The father of two who later deleted the controversial post after his 60-year-old conservative aunt got involved in the 'heated discussion' added: 'I am a huge advocate for LGBTQ+ rights since I was young. I support gay marriage and I am proud that I can work for Grindr,' he concluded.

In the track, Jay-Z mocks West over his support of Trump, rapping: "No red hat, don't Michael and Prince me and Ye / They separate you when you got Michael and Prince's DNA / I ain't one of these house n***as you bought / My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours."

Then he appears to almost-compare West's wife Kim Kardashian with his own wife, Beyonce: "My spo– c'mon man, my route better, of course."

Jay-Z and West's relationship has been tumultuous of late. During an interview in April with David Letterman, he spoke about his relationship with West and said: "That's my brother. We're beyond friends. Really, like literally, my little brother is Kanye, and like your little brother, things happen sometimes."

Martial Explains How He Won Over Mourinho

Anthony Martial has buried the hatchet with Jose Mourinho – resulting in his best form under the Manchester United manager.
The Frenchman’s recent performances have been among precious few bright spots in a troubled season for the Old Trafford giants.
And after stating – via his agent – he wanted to leave the club in the summer, Martial has arguably been United’s best player in the last few months.
The 22-year-old has scored six goals in his last six domestic appearances and started 11 of the Reds’ last 12 matches, after previously being forced out of his left-wing berth by Alexis Sanchez.
He puts his reversal of fortunes down to upping his work rate – and doing what Mourinho has demanded of him tactically.
“I think that [my improvement] is more on a tactical level,” he told United’s club programme.
“I try and take up good positions so I can best help out my team.
“I have been trying to work harder defensively too, and to really try and help out the side when we aren’t in possession of the ball.
“We work a lot on tactics and I try and do my best. I listen carefully to the advice of all the coaching staff we have here and I find that this helps me a lot.”
It hasn’t all been plain sailing, with Martial’s form not exactly electric in Tuesday’s Champions League win over Young Boys.
But, while there has been relentless focus on Mourinho’s criticism of his players and his relationship with stars such as Paul Pogba, Martial is in a positive frame of mind, adding: “The key to it is playing games.
“For me, when you play in a game, that’s when you get back your enjoyment and you start to pick up your form once again. (Goal)
